Bristol Old Vic

Haworth Tompkins are working on the redevelopment of the Bristol Old Vic theatre, rebuilding the front of house areas and studio. The new foyer will gather the whole audience in a single, lofty courtyard space, revealing for the first time in its 250-year history the extraordinary 1760's front wall of the Georgian Theatre, which will be visible from the street. The project also includes a new studio theatre and the refurbishment of the magnificent 18th Century Coopers' Hall, which will be returned to its original purpose as a grand communal room for the city.
