King Edward's School
King Edwards School Birmingham and King Edward VI High School for girls commissioned Haworth Tompkins to design a new Performing Arts Centre to be used jointly by both schools. The accommodation was to include a 500-seat auditorium, 140-seat drama studio, rehearsal room, workshops, specialist classrooms and practice rooms. Mature trees surround the site and a spectacular, eighty-foot oak tree commands the space between the site and existing buildings, creating a shared open space at the social hub of the two schools.
