Pocket are an innovative company seeking to develop a model of affordable housing for sale. Haworth Tompkins were chosen to work with them on a site on Greenwich Peninsula. The site was thin and tapered to a point, commanding long views to the north. The brief called for 94 blind tenure units, 30 parking spaces and shared amenity space. An 11-storey wedge-shaped block was proposed, stepping back from the 'prow' to create a series of planted roof gardens. The car parking at the base was concealed behind a green wall which formed the buildings base and linked into and supported the ecology of the surrounding landscape.
