Haworth Tompkins carried out a feasibility study for The Theatre Museum, examining the potential of their site in Covent Garden compared with the options for moving to alternative sites. As most of the listed museum was situated below ground, connecting the exhibition spaces with the street was an important part of the proposals that emerged from this study. Working in collaboration with curators, designers, academics and directors a sustainable thesis for the next phase of design development was developed. Priorities of the study were for a more welcoming entrance area, renewal of the existing exhibition areas and more legible circulation between floors.
