Haworth Tompkins were commissioned by the English National Opera to provide a feasibility study for a site adjacent to Tower Bridge. The ENO identified a need to consolidate its various pre-production and studio activities on one site, as these activities were spread over a number of sites across the London area. A number of new build and refurbishment options were explored for providing a new "Creative Centre" at Potters Fields, which would include pre-production facilities (rehearsal spaces, fabrication spaces and storage), a new 250 seat Public Studio for smaller scale opera and for community use and provide a long term home for the ENO Baylis educational programme.
