—Architectural Assistant Part I
Joe joined Haworth Tompkins in 2024 and has been involved in several of the studio's residential and masterplanning projects. He studied Architecture at the University of Sheffield and was awarded the 2023 West Yorkshire Society of Architects Second Year Prize and won the 2024 Robert Henry Memorial Prize for his dissertation which focussed on the relationship between photography and architecture.
Prior to joining Haworth Tompkins, Joe gained experience with a community group in Plymouth working on the complex retrofit of an old cinema and nightclub. Joe is interested in how communities can be actively empowered within architecture through participatory design practices. He is also committed to implementing low tech design principles and has a strong interest in the relationship between architecture and ecology.
