Rafael joined Haworth Tompkins as an architectural assistant in 2024 and has been actively involved in a number of the studio’s masterplanning and residential projects. Prior to joining the studio, Rafael worked on residential, commercial and cultural projects at David Chipperfield Architects.
Rafael studied BSc Architecture at the University of East London, where he graduated with First Class Honours, and has won a number of Regional RIBA Student Awards, during his time at UEL he was also part of the design team that delivered “Timeless Flight,” A sculpture commissioned by the university to celebrate its' 125th anniversary. Rafael is interested in reuse and retrofit, a theme largely explored in his final university project.
